This One Is The One

This one is the one,
the one,
the exclusive one.
It is simply he,
uniquely him.

This one is the one
whose name is higher,
more beautiful, more wonderful,
above all others,
full of loveliness, splendor
and pure
as the cleanest snow of winter.

This one is the one
who pre-existed
before he was born.
Now that is a surprise!
The most high
born a man.

This one is the one
who is the beginning
and the end,
who created time
into which he came.

This one is the one,
the one,
the exclusive one.
It is simply he,
uniquely him.

Alpha & Omega -- Arthur Lidov

  1. In "The Book of Revelation" Ionnes (Yohannan) of Patmos had Jesus proclaim, "I am Alpha and Omega," the 1st and last letters of the Ionic Greek alphabet. The statement has been interpreted to mean that he has always existed, Curiously, though the letters were Greek, the letters were used in in Western art far more than in eastern Orthodox contexts.
