NOT FOR SALE

A sign needs to be put up
not sure which one would do
perhaps
"learn to fish and to recognise fish
before beginning"
would be good.

Perhaps you will think it funny
but
it happens frequently
fellows come online
thinking
that I must be swimming
around in this giant ocean
hoping, praying
that
I'm there to be caught.

I don't think it's really funny
these fellows going fishing
with less than themselves
no weight do they carry
except for similar stories
but they put out their lines
trying to fish
for beauty
more than anything.

I think it is funny
that they forget which fish can be caught and eaten
but
they don't take much notice of such things at all,
they still try to catch
whatever they can
with as little trouble and skill
as possible.

I'm not sure
if its funny or not
but these fellows are so similar
and are here
in a space, an ocean,
designed for other things.

This One Is The One

This one is the one,
the one,
the exclusive one.
It is simply he,
uniquely him.

This one is the one
whose name is higher,
more beautiful, more wonderful,
above all others,
full of loveliness, splendor
and pure
as the cleanest snow of winter.

This one is the one
who pre-existed
before he was born.
Now that is a surprise!
The most high
born a man.

This one is the one
who is the beginning
and the end,
who created time
into which he came.

This one is the one,
the one,
the exclusive one.
It is simply he,
uniquely him.

My Rose (2)

I remember her with tears in my eyes
because she left a big hole in my heart and life
no one ever cared for me like she did
no one totally human, that is.

I remember the last time I saw her standing
waving goodbye to us.
We had hugged just before,
a beautiful soft, cuddly hug.
I didn't know it then, but I did ask the question,
"What would it be like if that was the last time I saw her
standing waving goodbye?"

I remember now that it was the last time.
She was standing among her flowers
beautiful but with a quiet loneliness
surrounding her.
I lost her so quickly.
She had not wanted to go but was prepared.
I sang to her when she was flat on her back
unable to move,
the days before we knew there was no hope, no waking.

I remember her
with tears, with smiles

still with a hole in my heart
no one will ever be able
to fill this hole the way she did.
I can accept that
and be grateful
for having had such a wonderful mum.
